Flywheel Locking Tools

Taking off your engine flywheel can sometimes be a bit tricky if you are like us with no source of impact air gun to start it up with. Fear not as there is always a way to overcome every situation including this one. We would likw to share this some great ideas from various source and also from what ‘blink’ in our own head.

When the tough get going, the going get though. Anyway, if you do have an access to a proper tool in dismantling your flywheel of the engine, then use it. It is more safer and convenient to yourself.

The locking screw attached to flywheel is tighten into place by using a torque wrench and the kilogram that was pound of it seem impossible to be loosen without the use of impact air gun. If you happen to be in the situation like us and want to loosen the flywheel off the engine without the impact gun, the below method can be use.

It is taken from a left over steel plate laying around. We drill two holes and make a little groove on it.

This is how you stick the steel plate to the flywheel as the locking mechanism

 

Grab yourself a suitable box socket and 'L' handle and start working it out.
