Its been a great weekend here and we have a visit from one of our fella member, Amer Asmadinar (that’s what he named himself in facebook lol). Been complaining about the ride of his Toyota Starlet KP61 ever-since. The project: Lowering the Toyota Starlet KP61 a.k.a “Kambing”
Why we called it Toyota Starlet KP61 a.k.a “Kambing” is due to the original logo that sit on its original factory default steering wheels, shaped like a “Kambing” horn .
With the default factory setting, the stock springs and absorber does look a bit ugly as it make the car sit high above the wheel basement. As for that, we here at Pomen Yala lowered the car using aftermarket Volvo 240 Spring and mod it onto the Starlet.
We are using the Volvo 240 front Coil Spring and cutting it into half each from a pair of it thus giving us another extra 2 pair of coil springs.
Putting the spring on each side of the suspension and off you go. A simple as that.
However, do take notes that for the rear setup, you need to add in extra coil spring rubber buffer to compensate the great lost on the rear of the car. For this project, we are using a 1″ buffer.
Done the job for the day, Amer went home with a surprise on its tail 🙂 Tsurikawa !
